In summary, your brain sees your bad eating habits (chocolate, cheese, eating in front of the TV or in the car) as being crucial for your survival, and even releases hormones that feel good so you keep this habit going.
This is why you are often powerless to say NO to the food in the moment.
Willpower comes from a different part of your brain (your thinking brain, and when there's a battle between your thinking brain and habit brain, the habit brain almost always wins.
